Urban Pilates believes in an Authentic, Systematic and Integrative approach to Pilates. Authentic Pilates instruction honors the original teachings and intentions of Joseph Pilates. Systematic instruction teaches a prescribed system of Pilates exercises that lead clients from the Beginner System, through the Intermediate System, and eventually to the Advanced System. Urban’s approach to Pilates instruction is rooted in a method that teaches you the original exercises in the unique order. This way you learn undiluted authentic Pilates that maintains the integrity of the method. Urban believes by teaching you a progression of exercises where one exercise or workout does not exist in isolation from the next, you can learn Pilates easily, safely and attain results quickly. Our Instructors will also integrate multiple apparatus in each workout to get you that full body workout.

Do you ever feel like it’s hard to coordinate your breath with your workout? Or you don’t really know where or how to use your breath as part of the exercises? Or perhaps you have sometimes felt a deep sense of enjoyment from seamless coordination between breath and movement, and would like to develop that into more consistency in your workouts.

Whatever your relation to breathing, you will leave this workshop with more availability in your breath. This translates into a more fluid practice, opening circulation in areas that can use more nourishment, and a deeper sense of integration in your current practice.

All of this opens doors to next evolutions in your workouts and in your relationship to Pilates. All levels are welcome at this workshop. We will explore ways to connect with and unleash the breath and feel how this transforms our workout. Expect to spend some slower time with a bit of relaxing guided meditation, some breath exercises, and to play with the relationship between different ways of breathing and your favorite exercise. Lastly we will enjoy a good workout integrating the breath with movement and challenge.
